Respondent mood and the instability of survey network measurements

چکیده
The affect infusion model [Forgas, 1999, Handbook of Cognition and Emotion. Wiley, Chichester, p. 591] was used to hypothesize and explain relations between respondents’ moods and the instability of survey measurements of social support ties in social networks of high school students. Two relative measures of network measurement instability were defined. The sensitivity of these to the change in respondent mood was observed by repeated measurements. Four types of social support were measured twice, under different conditions using both recognition and free recall data collection techniques. Changes in respondent mood and the data collection technique were the best two predictors of measurement instability among several survey design variables included in the survey. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Estimation of pull-in instability voltage of Euler-Bernoulli micro beam by back propagation artificial neural network
The static pull-in instability of beam-type micro-electromechanical systems is theoretically investigated. Two engineering cases including cantilever and double cantilever micro-beam are considered. Considering the mid-plane stretching as the source of the nonlinearity in the beam behavior, a nonlinear size-dependent Euler-Bernoulli beam model is used based on a modified couple stress theory, c...
متن کاملThe prevalence and clinical associations of mood
Mood instability is under investigated but potentially clinically important. This study aimed to describe the prevalence of mood instability in adults living in England and test whether it is important in explaining the extent of symptoms of common mental disorders, suicidality and healthcare use. An analysis of data from the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey 2007, a household survey of privat...

متن کاملPrediction of transient instability and unplanned islanding using phasor measurements data
in this paper a new algorithm has been proposed to predict unplanned islanding. To predict unplanned islanding, rotor angle and speed time series have been used. Times of fault occurrence and clearance are estimated using monitoring system response based on the variation of phasor measure data. The estimated times of fault occurrence and clearance are used to determine suitable calculation wind...
متن کاملMood Instability and Psychosis: Analyses of British National Survey Data
BACKGROUND We used British national survey data to test specific hypotheses that mood instability (1) is associated with psychosis and individual psychotic phenomena, (2) predicts the later emergence of auditory hallucinations and paranoid ideation, and (3) mediates the link between child sexual abuse and psychosis. METHODS We analyzed data from the 2000 and 2007 UK national surveys of psychi...
